Health Professions
Because…you don’t have to make all these decisions on your own!
Introduction
The health care field has expanded dramatically in recent years.
According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, health occupations
are predicted to be 8 of the 20 fastest growing professions in America
in the coming decade. One result of this growth is the increasing
number of employment opportunities for individuals with a variety
of talents, interests, skills, and education.
Many health care careers require advanced education, so it is important
to take early steps toward preparation. There is often a substantial
commitment of time and resources needed to become a health care
professional and admission to health education programs can be highly
competitive. Therefore, it is advantageous to gain some exposure
to a variety of health care occupations before making a decision
to pursue a career. The profiles on the right provide a quick overview
of some of the many professions within the health care field.
