don’t have to make all these decisions on your own!
The University of Michigan has one of the largest pre-professional
student populations in the U.S. In fact, over the last several years,
the number one career interest among all University of Michigan
incoming students has consistently been medicine. Every year, University
of Michigan graduates gain admission to top law and medical schools
in the country.
The Career Center offers a wide range of services tailored to meet
the specific needs of pre-law and pre-health students:
- Career Counseling available on an appointment basis by members
of the Pre-Professional Team
- Drop-In Advising and E-mail Queries for quick questions and
introduction to resources
- Programs focusing on exploration, preparation and application
for careers in health and law during fall and winter semesters
- Sponsoring of special events, such as Law Day, Medical School
Information Fair, Graduate School Information Fair, etc.
- Reference Letter Service to afford University of Michigan students
and alumni/ae the opportunity to maintain a file with letters
in support of their academic endeavors
- E-mail groups to support students throughout their application
process
- Personal Statement Reviews for application to all professional
programs
- Videotaped Practice Interviews to improve students' preparation
for their upcoming interviews
- Extensive library including resources on professional careers,
admissions test registration materials, current issues, professional
school information, and national and University of Michigan-specific
matriculation statistics.
