For over 40 years The Career Center sponsored University of Michigan Public Service Intern Program (PSIP) has helped UM students obtain summer public service internships in Washington DC. PSIP assists talented undergraduates from all academic departments in securing summer internship positions with congressional and congressional support offices, executive offices and agencies, judicial offices, special interest and lobby organizations, arts/museums, and print and broadcast media.
PSIP is a year-long program committed to helping students:
- develop valuable job search tools and skills (resume, cover letter, interviewing, etc.)
- obtain an exciting internship in Washington, DC in public service
- make lifelong friends, and
- have a great summer internship experience

Prospective Students: Learn more about PSIP, review the application timeline, and access the online application.
Alums/Mentors: Learn about the PSIP Alumni mentorship program and sign-up to be a mentor for one or two current PSIP participants in DC this coming summer
Employers: Discover the competitive standards for PSIP applicants. Publicize an internship opening or receive applications from PSIP participants for a summer internship.
